18 month check up

I went on my first over-nighter with my mom and sis for our annual "Seattle Shopping Trip."  I ended up coming down with the worst cold, but didn't let that stop me.  Daddy watched Sophia and they did great!  Daddy didn't understand why I was nervous and anxious to leave my baby girl.  Not that I don't trust him as a father, hes the best!  It was ME.  I'm with her 24 hours a day and have never been a part from her for more than 6 hours.  I think it was a blessing in disguise that I got sick, because I just thought about feeling sorry for myself instead of worrying about missing my girl :)  Plus, Daddy sent me pictures all weekend of them having fun!  This is a picture he sent me Sunday morning. They went on a fall walk--of course he put her baby "J's on.  (Jordans)

Went to Lattins Pumpkin Patch with Nana, Papa and Auntie JuJu (Taryn).  This is one of my favorite parts of being a mom :)  All the traditions!  Sophia rode in the wagon with the pumpkins and we fed the goats and chickens.

She totally understands the big girl potty.....maybe we will start training her soon :)  In these pics, she brought her potty out into the living room, tore off her diaper, sat on the pot and made grunting noises and said "poop."  No poop though....at least she gets the idea.

On Monday, Sophia had her 18 month check up.  I can't tell you how grateful I am that we have Dr. Jennifer Ash as our Pediatrician!  She is so great!  (FYI--she is accepting a few new "newborns/pregnant mama's only."  Other than that, she is booked solid!

What the Doc said:
-24 pounds (up 2.5 pounds since 12 month check up)
-Grew 3 inches since 12 months
-Healthiest baby girl ever!
-Her developmental skills are that of a 2 year old (smart girl!)

Of course I feel great after hearing all of that :)

23 Weeks--over a pound!

Sweet baby Khloe, we are so excited for you to come into this world!

Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With her sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that she's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango), you may be able to see her squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing her for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze her when she hears them outside the womb.

I love my belly :)  I think this is the cutest stage....not too small, not huge yet.

22 Weeks--length of a spaghetti squash :)

Khloe is just as active as Sophia was in my belly.  "Active in equals active out???" That is the question......I may have 2 little busy bees on my hands :)

Honestly, I don't love being pregnant this time around.  Instead, I just want my special girl to be here!  It has not been enjoyable in the least bit.  I'm ready to just "do the darn thing" and push this little girl out!  I just don't feel myself at all.  It amazes me how every pregnancy is so different.  I'm doing just about everything I did with Sophia, but feel SOOOO different.  I actually thought I had a kidney stone the other day because I had a horrible pinch on the right side of my belly.  Turns out it was nothing.  But still.....

Other than that, I'm starting to nest and get things ready.  Nana came over and we went through Sophia's entire closet and organized all of the clothes into different bins.  I got rid of things I know I won't use and made a list of things I would really like to have this time around.  I don't know what I would do without Nana.  She makes me a better mama and helps me organize my life. love you mom!

Since I am a big fan of "wearing" my babies, I ordered a sling to have my little girl nestled into me at all times.  I CAN'T WAIT!!!  I also want to get these wonderful swaddle blankets from a little baby shop downtown.  They are so cozy!  I would want to be swaddled in them :)

I have plans for the "girls" playroom too!  Papa Jon is going to make a cute little house to hold an "activities" table in it.  Here is the picture.

This is where we will have tea parties, color, and craft.  I can't wait!  I also like the lime green color of the walls and will probably just copy this picture.

In Sophia Land:
She has started to "sing" and "talk" herself to sleep at night. SO CUTE!!!  Gosh, I love my girl!  I also realized that if she doesn't get adequate sleep or a good nap, then she doesn't get tired and fussy....instead, she gets crazy!  Literally, she gets so overstimulated that she turns into a toddler that just drank 5 energy drinks.  Apparently, this is exactly how her father was as a toddler.  Like father, like daughter--they are literally the same person I think :)

These were some pics taken with her cousin Grace.  We had a playdate the other day.  Grace is a couple years older.  Sophia prefers to play with older kids.  They ran around screaming and playing--so much fun!  Then Sophia got overstimulated and started tackling Grace.  Grace started to get annoyed and tried to ignore her :)  It was too funny.

At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and he's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. His eyes have formed, but his irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment.

20 Weeks and we have a NAME....

We are excited to announce the name of our precious baby girl,

Khloe Catherine Kosturos

Orient:  Greek
Meaning:  "green shoot"
Middle name:  after her Yia Yia Gwen
Sign:  Aquarius

Since daddy named Sophia, Mommy got to name Khloe.  Sophia's middle name is after her mama and her Nana Kathy, so Khloe is named after the other special lady in her life.  I have always liked the name Khloe and decided to spell it with a "k" because I love the letter "k" :)

Khloe is kicking A Lot lately.  I love to feel her move.  It reminds me how close its getting for us to meet her!  I can't wait to hold her in my arms for the first time.  We love you so so much baby girl!  You are going to make this little family absolutely perfect and complete! xxoxox

holy tight jeans!  Zach took me out for my birthday, so I put my yoga pants aside and tried to dress up.  I thought I would be safe wearing my baggy jeans.....notice how these jeans are NOT baggy at all.  I felt like Jlo because my butt was falling out of them :)

In Sophia land:

She gives nose kisses :)  I catch her giving her dolls nose kisses all the time, so sweet! Lordy, I love this girl!  She can also work my Iphone.  She knows how to play videos.....she prefers her own home videos and laughs at herself :)  Her laugh is one of the best sounds in the world!  She also likes to "clean" with wipes. She cleans the couch, her dollies butts and the floor.

Enjoying a nice fall evening before dinner
