3 month Love bug

My dear Sophia is already 3 months....and you guessed it, where is the time going?  Everyone always says that the 3 month mark is a big one.  That it is!  She is growing into a little person right before my eyes and no longer is just an infant crying, eating and pooping.  Of course she still does those three things, but now we can already see her personality coming out.  She holds my hand, cuddles, stares, giggles, smiles, frowns, kisses, sucks, sticks out her tongue, follows with her eyes, holds her head up and sleeps wonderfuly :)
I am crazy with taking pictures of Sophia but noticed that I hardly have any of the two of us or the three of us, so my goal is to capture more pictures of our family so I have the memories.

Sophia in 3 words:

Adorable-I can't get over all of the little corky and cute things that she does.  I could just stare at her for hours.

Observant-oh how quickly she is growing and wants to look at everything.  I love being able to look at things through her eyes and watch her look at things for the very first time.  She doesn't like tummy time so much anymore because she wants to look at the world and not at the ground.

Knows-what-she-wants (ok, that's not a word)--She sure is a "first born" if you know what I mean.  She will let you know when she wants something. :)

Sophia LOVES:
to be held, kisses, being sung to (even if your voice isn't that great, she loves good humming), to snuggle in the wee hours of the morning, being bounced, to pretend to walk and be held up like she is walking, being tickled on her belly by daddy, making eye contact and playing on her 'play mat' while listening to music and being held outward so she can look at the world in front of her.

Yes, her eyes are still blue with a greenish tint
Sophia doesn't so much LOVE:
diaper changes when she first wakes up, falling asleep on her own (however she is getting better at it), the sun in her eyes, tummy time, not being held when she starts to get tired and loud voices.

Bumble Bee tuna

Sophia received quite a few swimsuits at her showers, but this is the one that fits right now.  This was either mine or my sisters when we were babies--it remains an ongoing argument, because we both want to be able to claim this adorable swimsuit!

That said, Sophia is already growing out of it :(

Honestly....the CUTEness!  Can't get enought of that belly :)  She sucks on her hands ALL the time now.  I think it comforts her.

Splish Splash

Summer Summer Summer time!  We had a wonderful Sunday with just the 3 of us.
  • Started the day off with a walk before it got too hot.  Sophia sat in her stroller without her carseat...so grown up
  • Went to Fred Meyer to buy our first "kiddy pool" for Sophia.
  • BBQ-ed halibut tacos with roasted corn chutney all from scratch.
  • Had my first "skinny girl margarita" since being pregnant!!! woo woo!
  • Wore a bikini for the first time since being preggo--still rockin' the line on my stomach
OK, so funny story.  We filled the pool up while Sophia was sleeping, and my plan was to wait until the sun heated up the freezing cold water before we put her in it for the first time.  I went upstairs to take a shower, and apparently Smoosh woke up and daddy was so excited to take her into the pool, I got downstairs and found them in it.......he didn't even put her cute little bumble bee swimsuit on....so zachary.
She's not really sure about it.....or is she freezing?

Ummmmm, easy dad...don't lower me so quickly.

 Not having it.

About 2 hours later, the pool was very warm so we tried a different technique.  She loved it!
Yep, we put the Bumpo in the pool with her in it.  She chilled for about 25 minutes :)

Hello Kitty

I found these adorable leggins' on babylegs.com and I think I'm obsessed!  I will be ordering many more in the future, especially when it starts getting colder. These are the infant size, which can later be used on her arms.  They are wonderful, because it makes diaper changing a breeze.

 She loves her Guncle.

Sunny Days

The summer here isn't being too kind this year, however we have had a few sunny days--and YES, I mean a few.  My mini got to wear her sun hat for the first time and wasn't too fond of the sun shining in her eyes, but I was able to capture a few pictures.  You can tell she doesn't really know what to think of the brightness.

 Look at that face!

Happy 4th of July!!!

A lot has happened in the last week.  Sophia celebrated her first Holiday and we moved!  Wow!  Talk about not taking a break.  We have been looking at houses for the past 2 years or so and finally decided it was time.  Our old house was feeling a little cramped with our new addition.  We decided to rent out our old house, so if you are interested or know of someone, let me know!

I feel so blessed with the life I have.  Now that we are in a house that we will plan on staying in for a long time, I feel settled with my new little family.  We looked at our new house on a Friday and ended up closing in just a few days and got the keys on Wednesday.  So sorry for those who feel "out of the loop," but it all happened so quickly.  Then we got to have the 4th at our house, because it has the most gorgeous view of the city....little did we know we were going to have front row seats to the most amazing fire works show in Oly!   We were able to see fireworks behind us, all around us and below us.  It was absolutely amazing.  I think Sophia was a little overwhelmed with the amount of peeps that were at our house and with how loud the fireworks were, so I spent most of the second half of the night up in her room--but not to worry, the view from her room is just as amazing as the deck.
