Breastfeeding Mama

I'm still a feeding machine. Sophia and i have it down. we are like peas and carrots, peanut butter n jelly. She eats whenever she wants. Although she is eating some solids, she prefers mamas milk. I'm trying to eat 2,500+ calories per day to keep up with high-quality milk for my baby girl. I think its an absolute miracle that a women's body can sustain a child with milk alone.  God is amazing! I live on tons of fats and my favorites include coconut oil, full-fat coconut milk, Cod liver oil from Nordic naturals,grass-fed butter, avocados, salmon, and eggs. I fill in with vegetables, grass-fed beef, chicken, fish, and quinoa. I can tell a difference in my supply when I skimp on these foods. So if I drink a glass of wine or have caffeine, I drink extra water and take an extra dosage of barleylife to make sure my milk is good :)

9 mOnth love bug

Ok, guilty! I have been slacking off big time with this blog. I'm really going to make a point to not get behind anymore. So, wow!!! Sophia is a growing machine. She has changed so much lately, I feel like I have to write down every little new thing she is doing or else I forget and she is already onto something else. She is officially walking :) at 9 months just like mommy and daddy. It stared with 2 steps, the next day 3, then 9, then she was walking from couch to window. She is still quite wobbly but very determined and adorable. I love her smile when she is walking to me. She is so proud of herself. She loves affirmation with everything she does.  She also had her first swim lesson. Dad took her and I took pictures. She was a champ and loved the water. I actually had parents ask me how many times had she taken the class becUae she was having so much fun! She actually tried to dive in. No joke!  Currently, she has 2 bottom teeth and 3 top.  She has been "grinding" a little on my nipple, so we are trying to figure out how to change her latch, because I don't plan on stopping nursing anytime soon....I'll keep you updated on what we do.  I feel like I am constantly picking up, putting away, picking up, putting away.......I just need to accept that my house will no longer look "tidy."

Sophia has consistently woken up in the morning between 730-830am.  And if I wanted to sleep in on the weekend with daddy, I could always just nurse her back to sleep.  Times have changed in the last 2 weeks though :)  She has been consistenly waking up during the 6 o'clock hour. NO!  And she is WIDE awake and wants to get going with her day.  So, I am now an early bird again :)

Sophia loves:
Hearing herself "talk", pulling clothes out of drawers, pulling mamas clothes off her hangers in the closet, talking to Zeus and Gigi, giving "open mouth" kisses (mom and dads favorite), reading books, kissing her baby Gretal, eating avocados, egg yolk, mangos, oatmeal with banana and her barley life. She loves the water and gets to take baths and showers with mom and dad. When it's nice she enjoys being outside and walking the dog.  She is active beyond control :)

Her favorite game! Put her on a blanket and pull her around the house.

helping mama cook :)

Ok, enough blogging, she has opened just about every drawer in the kitchen and it looks like a bomb went off.  She's about to try to lift a heavy crock pot out of the drawer.....
